We are happy to announce that the Creativity & PD Exhibit will be held again at the WPC 2010. The exhibit will house the first-ever global Parkinson's Quilt Project which was coordinated by the Parkinson's Disease Foundation in the U.S., a leading Organizational Partner, and is being presented for the first time at the WPC 2010.

Over 600 people from 14 countries contributed panels to the Quilt. If you missed your chance to submit your panel you can still send it to the WPC to have it added to the Quilt onsite during the meeting. We will also have an area for interested delegeats to make panels right there during the Congress. If you've been working on a panel and plan to attend the WPC, bring your panel with you and turn it in to the exhibit area.
Below are just two of the many groups that contributed panels.
| Parkinson's UK: Newcastle Branch, UK We are from Newcastle, in the North East of England upon Tyne Branch, covering the city Gateshead and North Tyneside, with almost 200 members and three support groups. Our message is simple. Many people have vaguely heard of PD. Most only know of the shaking. What everyone with PD needs is more research to find a cure. |

Vancouver Broadway Support Group, Parkinson Society of British Columbia, Canada When I heard about the giant quilt project, I felt that this would be a wonderful way to honor our Support Group: to say thank you to our families and for the close friendships we have made within our group. Vancouver Broadway Support Group may not be able to go to Glasgow, but we would like to be there in spirit through our collage! We hope Panel 2083 will be bound to the giant quilt, just as we are bound here by friendship. Going to Glasgow this fall? Look for our panel. It was made with love. |
Here are a few panels from individuals. Learn more at Parkinson's Quilt Project on Facebook.com.

History of the Creativity & Parkinson's Exhibit
The 1st World Parkinson Congress hosted a major Creativity & PD Exhibit in the exhibit hall alongside the posters and exhibitors. More than 200 artists living with PD from 12 countries contributed artwork for a museum-quality display of art to make the Creativity and Parkinson's Exhibition in 2006 a spectacular success.

The creativity exhibit in 2006 came about from the commitment and time spent by the PDF and its staff who organized the logistics of collecting artwork, setting up the display, and continuing with the mission of exploring the connection between creativity and PD. After the WPC took place, the PDF was granted permission by the WPC and all the artists who submitted work, to continue with this project, which is now housed by the PDF on their website. PDF continues to collect and maintain artwork online offering a space for the PD artist community to stay connected and present their work.
Using the artwork from their creativity site, the PDF has once again created a free calendar. To order Creativity & Parkinson's 2011 Calendars write to creativity@pdf.org.
This aspect of the WPC was so well-received by the artists, families, and attendees at the WPC 2006 that the PDF was invited to once again host this space in 2010. If your organization would like to get involved in the Creativity & PD Exhibit at the WPC 2013, please write to info@worldpdcongress.org.
