What is this competition about?
The World Parkinson Coalition launched the Global Parkinson's Pledge on September 28, 2010 at the Opening Ceremony of the WPC 2010. This competition is about the Parkinson's Pledge. We are looking for people who have already signed the pledge or people who will sign the pledge to tell the world, in one minute or less, why they signed the pledge or why they are going to sign the pledge.

Sign the pledge here!

This competition is about raising awareness, getting people involved, and having a little fun at the same time. Anyone who supports signing the pledge is welcome to submit a video, whether a person with PD, care partner, researcher, clinician, friend...

Who is eligible?
ANYONE touched by Parkinson's is invited to submit a video up to one minute maximum.

HOW TO SUBMIT A VIDEO

1. Create your video. Maximum length is 1 minute. You may submit more than one video. Videos must be in English or have English subtitles. YouTube recommends that you save your videos as either QuickTime .MOV, Windows .AVI, or .MPG files — these are the most common formats and they work well within the YouTube system. Recommended: Original resolution of your video - for HD it is 1920x1080 (1080p) or 1280 x 720. Codec H.264 or MPEG-2. Preferred containers are FLV, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4.

Because your video may be shown on large screens at events, it is important that you create it at the highest resolution you can.

2. If you don't already have an account at YouTube, it is free and it only takes a couple of minutes to register at http://www.youtube.com/create_account. Register now!

3. Make and upload your video to YouTube. Your video will be assigned a unique URL, You'll need to save the URL so you can insert it into the WPC video online application form.

4. Fill in the WPC video online application form at http://www.wpc2010.net/pledge.htm

5. Your WPC video will be viewed by the video competition committee. Notices will go out via email on Friday, March 25, 2011 to all who entered the competition regarding final decisions.

Questions can be submitted via email to: video@worldpdcongress.org
