What is this competition about?
The World Parkinson Congress 2010 is hosting a video competition to help raise awareness about Parkinson's and to put a face on the disease. This is about raising awareness, getting people involved, and having a little fun at the same time. Nearly 50 people from 15 countries submitted videos to the competition. They identified themselves as people with Parkinson's, caregivers, friends, and researchers.
In the videos people tell us why or how they are staying strong in the face of Parkinson or why they won't let PD stand in their way or how they are researching a cure. Their videos show us what they are doing to make a difference for people, or even just one person, who is or are living with Parkinson's. Some videos tell the message about how difficult and dreadful life with PD can be in spite of your best efforts and others poke fun at the disease they have been living with for years. The videographers had free reign in making their video and choosing the topic. We just asked that the videos touched the viewers with a happy, frustrating, uplifting, educational or sad message — it just needed to move us to be considered a winning video.
All accepted videos will be played in a 'video display area' in the Exhibit Hall on a loop for the duration of the Exhibit Hall hours. After the WPC, they will be made available on the WPC Facebook page and a select few will be shown on the WPC website.

ANYONE touched by Parkinson's was invited to submit a video up to three minutes thrity seconds long.
