Plans are underway for the 2nd World Parkinson Congress | WPC 2010 to be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from September 28 – October 1, 2010!

The WPC 2010 will be an international, interdisciplinary forum showcasing current developments in the world of Parkinson’s disease (PD).  Based on the success of the first WPC in Washington, DC, USA in 2006 the program will again cover medical and scientific research, education and training, best-care initiatives, and quality of life issues. Presentations will be offered through an extensive program including plenary sessions, debates, symposia and workshops devoted to prevention, diagnosis, treatment of and future research on PD.

On September 28, the first day of the program before the official kick off of the Congress, a full day of educational courses will be offered. These courses will include one track with high level science and research presentations and the other, a Fundamentals of PD Course, for those who need to be brought up to speed on the current state of Parkinson’s science and care. The Fundamentals of PD course will also offer information to people attending a meeting of this nature for the first time to help them better understand how to get the most out of the WPC 2010.  Courses will be open to all attendees.

The goal of the WPC 2010 is to advance an all-encompassing approach to the treatment of Parkinson’s by bringing together the full spectrum of those who serve the Parkinson’s community and those who live with PD on a day to day basis. Attendees will include representatives of professional medical and scientific organizations; the allied health industry; people with PD and caregivers; the pharmaceutical industry; and the research and health services ministries of national governments.

Please “save the date” and be sure to join us in September 2010 in Glasgow, Scotland!
